PUBLIC RELATIONS
Public Relations are an important expert subject and those who plan to build a career out of Public Relations have an attractive and demanding future. The definition of Public Relations is someone who explains the product or company to get a good image. Public Relations are always up to date about information and message. This was said by: “The British Institute of Public Relations defines P.R is about reputation. The result of what you do, what you say, and what others say about you”.
Public Relations affects with the companies is the art and social science of analysing trends which is always followed mode (must up to date), consequence prediction that we must have a mission or must consistent, counseling organisation leaders which is we give an advice to managers, the implementation in action and organisational and public interest (what has been planned by Public Relations must be agree to by the public). The Public Relations’ behaviour has to be patient in promoting products to their consumer in order to get their attention. The projects of Public Relations are to promote the new product (make a launching) or make an event programme, to inform, to educate, make understanding, gaining a support, and maintaining good relationships between an organisation and the public, to prepare promotional materials, etc. Public Relations transfer process such as: to get people to understand the value of a certain product, to reduce the impact of an unfortunate happening, to reinforce an attitude.
The role of Public Relations in the companies are to maintain the good reputation of a company so that the company will have a good image. Public Relations has to be chance from negative to be positive. For example: a company suddenly had a problem that made the image bad. Here the role of Public Relations started to play again in order to get a good image back. For example, one of the products of the mosquitoes syringe in Indonesia which use the excessive element could endanger the human life. In fact, the excessive use of the element product has been disqualified by the government. After wards this company rebuilt its good reputation so that advanced like originally and was believed by the consumer to continue to make this product saleable again in the markets. To withdraw the attention of the community, this company made use of the mass media such as: newspapers and magazines. The electronic media such as: the television advertisement, the radio advertisement, and the internet or also by giving more profit so that the consumer is interested and keep trusted in this product.
Public Relations professionals must know “why planning is needed”. Definition of planning is preparation of a given country activity to come up with a decision. Beside the planning, Public Relations must know about action which means making the result into the truth, and then about evaluation which is process of quantify how far the objectives have been met, then about continuation is on going succession of the activity, and the last is information which means to supply of relevant knowledge about all the aspects of the activity.
In financial P.R (investors Relations), Public Relations activity that focuses on the financial sector of the business industry. With government and public relationships, Public Relations activity that focuses on the government, local authorities and public bodies. With the public, Public Relations that focuses on the organisation’s relationship within its society covering grants and donations.
